Day One - We Have (Finally) Arrived!

Well, we all arrived safely and in one piece today in Istanbul (despite some of us unfortunately having lost some luggage along the way)! Groups of participants arrived from 5:50am through 5:45pm at Istanbul's Ataturk International Airport. After the final group was picked up, we convened at our first hotel, "The Grand Anka."

After coming together we made our way via bus to "Pirpirim Restaurant," a standard on Istanbul Center's Trips to Turkey. We enjoyed favorites such as lahmacun (a kind of Turkish pizza with ground beef, onions, etc.), kebabs, salads, breads, and wonderful desserts before heading back to the hotel. You can even see some shots from our first dinner together below...

We are very excited for tomorrow and will make sure to keep you posted!

    Hi Jessica,

    I am so happy to hear that everyone made it there safely! I hope their luggage arrives soon! Brianna is having trouble getting connected on the hotels wireless internet service due to an incorrect password she was given. Could you possible try to assist her so that we can connect via facetime? Thanks for all of your help!

    Hello Angela,

    We are now in Ankara and the wireless service is much easier to access. She shouldn't have a problem now! :)
